Founder
Results From Technology!® is an information technology consulting practice that
specializes in the planning and use of technologies to meet all organizational needs.
Leveraging on the experience gained from twenty-five years in the field of information
technology with computer systems design, development and implementation, clients are
provided with technology plans that incorporate the required elements to grow with their
needs and the changes in technology.
Applications include:
imaging, document management, accounting, sales and marketing, work order
management, project management, office automation, education, CAD, local and
wide area networks.
Client industries include:
Manufacturing, retail sales, elementary and secondary education,
government, restaurants, automotive restoration, construction, real estate,
distribution, financial, non-profit, photography.
Work as a lecturer has been done in consulting roles and at the
Hewlett-Packard International Users Group, Pacific Bell and SBC. Recent
seminars have focused on technology strategies, the creative process in
technology innovation, and the creation of networking strategies from
business requirements and technology opportunities.

almost every month for three years in both Interexpress and Interact. Topics ranged from management issues and opinion pieces to
coverage of technology shows like Comdex and Networld+Interop and more recently in-depth

PrimeSource, Inc., Irvine, CA
Director, Information Technology
PrimeSource was a $430 million distributor of building materials with 36 centers selling
to all 50 states and Canada.
Managed all information systems and telecommunications activities across the company,
with full fiscal responsibility. This included applications selection, financing,
development, implementation, and operation using systems from Hewlett-Packard, Data
General, IBM, and numerous IBM compatible PCs, using major data and voice network
technologies. The telecommunications covered all phone line services and equipment.
Staffing encompassed internal and outsourced resources. Also actively participated in the
policy development, marketing, product management, administration and logistics
activities.
Major Accomplishments:
- Converted from batch oriented IBM systems to on-line transaction systems on schedule
after the LBO from Wickes Corporation in 1987.
- Implemented a de-centralized network of HP3000s in manual distribution centers.
- Commissioned and developed a major software enhancement which preserved the software
investment.
- Integrated the data and voice communications networks yielding more than $500k in
annual savings and improving service by replacing the original network strategy.
- Selected and acquired an in-house publishing solution which has saved over $25k per
year.
- Developed and employed strategy to merge information after the acquisition of the
Grip-Rite companies in 1990.
- Negotiated major discounts and financing for $4 million of computer expenditures and
secured significant discounts and below market financing for all new phone systems.
- Set foundation for new client/server technologies and applied computer telephony
applications. These tools indicate sales productivity increases up to thirty percent.
- Contributed to the development of a marketing program which provides for program
selling increases.
- Developed staffing model, transitioned existing staff and hired new personnel into new
systems environment.

Director of Management Information Systems
TOVA is a $6 million manufacturer and direct marketer of skin care products.
Responsible for the Information Systems, Order Processing, and Customer Service
organizations. Established operational policy for all groups. Formulated Information
Systems strategy for company. Provided programming support for system customization,
reporting and maintenance. Performed information quality review and correction. Supported
financial, distribution and PC based applications.
Major Accomplishments:
- Installed major application software upgrade setting the foundation for operational
cost reductions and improved information collection and reporting.
- Established improved staffing, documentation and training standards for improved
support.

Region Service Administration Manager, North Hollywood, CA
Responsible for administrative support of $125 million field service operation. Active
in the formulation and implementation of organizational policy. Developed, reviewed, and
approved specifications and implementation strategies for new software systems. Supplied
training and ongoing user system support for five major systems. Managed over 150 people
in 25 offices who controlled a $15 million inventory, supported 19,000 service contracts,
processed 21,000 service orders per month.
Major accomplishments:
- Implemented new inventory management system providing increased inventory accuracy
and availability without increasing inventory levels from prior year.
- Tested and implemented new warranty tracking system, reducing warranty
administration
- time and cost.
- Created and implemented new performance measurement collection system.

District Service Manager, Los Angeles, CA
Directed Customer Engineers responsible for delivery of all on-site hardware support
services for the business computer systems. Supported a $2 million around the clock service
operation. Worked closely with sales and software support organizations for pre- and
post-sales support. Managed all associated revenue and expenses.
Major accomplishments:
- Exceeded revenue targets each year while keeping expenses below target and reducing
parts usage by 25 percent. Managed district split and reorganization.

Responsible for account management, repair, escalation and preventive maintenance
support services for a $375,000 computer systems account base. Trained new field customer
engineers in preparation for account management responsibilities. Supported single system
